Reseau de la Verneau Traverse

The Reseau de la Verneau System is a French classic, and one of the longest in France. It contains eight entrances in all, several of which feed down into a Collecteur. A number of traverses are possible, but only the one from Gouffre du Bief Boussets to Grotte Baudin can be achieved by non-divers. Two higher entrances, the Gouffre de la Baume des Cretes and Gouffre Perte de Jerusalem gain access to the upper reaches of the Verneau collecteur, above the upstream sump of the Bief Boussets, and offer fine sporting trips in their own right.
