Grotte du Moulin des Iles Length 2500m From Cleron, follow the D9 towards Epeugney. After 5km turn left onto the D222 to Cademene. Exit the village to the south, following a road that contours round the hill towards Rurey. Continue past the track on the left to Ferme des Isles. 1km beyond, a junction is reached, with a sloping road leading down into the valley on the left. Park here. Cut downhill across the field and through a wood to reach a track. Follow this downhill to the river bank, then walk upstream. The entrance is located at the top of some tufa falls, at the base of a 30m cliff and is marked on the map. This wet and entertaining cave is basically
a single splendid stream canyon, containing groups of helictites and about
120 gours. The generally vast streamway (10m high x 5m wide), is punctuated
only by an 11m long duck, for which a wetsuit is essential.
